Mobile Studies Congress

Mobile has become more popular and powerful than any other media, bringing changes, challenges and chances to our living and working. As the first of its kind in the world, Mobile Studies Congress (MSC) aims to provide researchers and practitioners of mobile media and communication with a venue to exchange their findings, observations, insights, and predictions. As an annual virtual event, MSC is scheduled to be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the second week of every November.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has changed our living and working. In all these changes, mobile has been playing an increasingly important role. Mobile has become more popular and powerful than any other media, bringing changes, challenges and chances to our living and working. As the first of its kind in the world, Mobile Studies Congress (MSC) aims to provide researchers and practitioners of mobile media and communication with a venue to exchange their findings, observations, insights, and predictions.

 

The general theme of the inaugural congress is "Go Mobile, Stay Healthy". To examine the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on mobile media and communication and the role of mobile in the fight against the pandemic, the congress will hold the following ten sessions: (1) mobile government & public opinion, (2) mobile teaching & learning, (3) mobile health & mobile health communication, (4) mobile marketing & advertising, (5) mobile & creative working, (6) mobile networking and communities, (7) mobile gaming & music, (8) mobile for development & mobile economy, (9) mobile journalism & city storytelling, and (10) mobile experience and futures. (11) mobile and diaspora, migrants, and immigrants, (12) mobile, security and privacy, (13) mobile technologies and public space, and (14) mobile communication and gender (mGender).

 

Mobile Studies Congress will hold the following competitions: (a) mobile documentary competition 2020 (click here for details), (b) mobile research paper competition 2020 (click here for details)

 

For research reports or project reports, please submit your full paper before 15 October 2020. If you want to participate in the competitions, please submit your works before 1 November 2020. The selection results will be announced on 15 November 2020.
