Christian Müller elected Visiting Fellow at the University of Oxford


Christian Müller, Associate Professor in European and International History at UNNC, School of International Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, has been elected Visiting Fellow at the University of Oxford, The Rothermere American Institute, for the academic year 2016/17.

Christian focuses on the rise of international private associations and organisations that shaped the international system from the non-governmental since the 1850s. He was awarded the fellowship for his book projects on the impact of private personal networks and individual expert agency on European political and social internationalism before 1914 and on the rise of humanitarianism in East Asia in a global perspective. During his Fellowship, Christian researches the unique document collections in Oxford, London, Geneva and other archives in Europe while strengthening academic and professional connections for future collaborations.
