About Our University
University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) was the first Sino-foreign university to open its doors in China. Established in 2004, with the full approval of the Chinese Ministry of Education, we are run by the University of Nottingham in partnership with Zhejiang Wanli Education Group, a key player in the education sector in China. The University of Nottingham Ningbo China is the first Sino-foreign university to open its doors in China in 2004. The University of Nottingham is in the top 100 in the QS World University Rankings. By leveraging the networks and teaching resources of the University of Nottingham, it ensures the delivery of world-class international education standards.
The Centre for English Language Education (CELE)
The Centre for English Language Education (CELE) at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China is one of the largest and most well-established English language teaching departments in the world. Our teaching team consists of around 110 experienced tutors from 21 countries and regions around the world. Each year, CELE tutors teach more than 2,100 first-year students who come to us for our high-quality academic English and introductory academic content courses, ensuring our students are ready for their degree-level studies in English. The Academic English Writing Course was designed by CELE, and combines small-sized classes, one-to-one tutorials and step-bystep curricula across our 5 modules.
Immersive British University Learning Environment
The modern campus, spanning 887 acres, is equipped with comprehensive sports facilities to meet the diverse athletic interests of its students. The library provides a solid foundation for academic research. The dormitory buildings are fitted with elevators, and each suite comes with its own private bathroom and shower facilities, complemented by a 24-hour air conditioning system that ensures a constant supply of hot and cold water. Nottingham Ningbo China boasts four main dining halls and specialty restaurants, offering a variety of culinary options from all over the world. The bustling commercial street also provides other services to satisfy students' needs. During the programme, you will find all daily essentials on campus, and there is no need to leave the campus except in case of emergencies.
About Our Academic Summer Camp
The Summer Camp would be suitable for
- Senior High students who would like to explore majors and study methods.
- Undergraduate students who would like to apply for master.
- Graduate students who would like to apply PhD.
- Students who would like to change the major.
- Improving academic English and research writing skills.
Programme Process
1. Before the Onsite programme
Students need to finish students’ information collection form and prepare a CV.
2. Preparation Phase
Finishing reading materials before the classes begin and make reading notes.
3. Professor's Guide Phase
The phase combines with lectures, seminars and final presentation.
4. Academic Mentor’s Lecture Phase
The phase combines with lectures, seminars and final presentation.
5. Academic Writing Lecture Phase
There will be 5 lectures.
6. Outcomes
On-site teaching certification, academic recommendation letters, evaluation forms, project certification issued by the University of Nottingham, and transcripts issued by the University of Nottingham.
7. Contribution Guidance
We will assist you in finding an international conference to finish the contribution stage.

Project Details
- Onsite Programme Duration: July 29, 2024 - August 11, 2024

- Project Hours: Totaling 115 lessons.
- 45 class hours of Research Foundations
- 18 class hours of Doctoral Dissertation Preparation
- 21 class hours of Professor-Guided Sessions

- 10 class hours of Official Academic Paper Guidance

The Centre for English Language Education ensures students receive expert guidance in academic paper writing, combining quality and authority to facilitate an exceptional journey of academic excellence.
- Six Key Programme Deliverables
Once you finish the programme, you will receive a certification issued by the University of Nottingham,transcript issued by the University of Nottingham,academic recommendation letter issued by the academic guide, project certification and an academic evaluation form. Besides that, you will also receive the guidance for publishing papers.
- Immersive British University Learning Experience
Throughout the programme, professors, teaching assistants, and class advisors will be fully engaged on campus, providing personalized support and guidance to ensure the seamless progression of the project.
- A Diverse Range of Extracurricular Activities
Students will participate in intellectually stimulating activities such as brainstorming workshops, experience sharing sessions, Movie nights and so on. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to engage in various sports activities, fostering not only physical fitness but also team organization and coordination skills.
