University of Nottingham Ningbo China Summer School

The English for Academic Purposes (EAP) course is developed by the core teaching team of the Centre of English Language Education (CELE), providing the same level of expertise as offered to preliminary students at UNNC. Classes are concentrated in the morning to lay a foundation for studying in English, while also supporting the learning of content modules in the afternoon. Students will develop new reading strategies, learn how to give an excellent university presentation and improve the standard of their academic writing.

Small-group teaching model: The EAP course generally consists of 18-20 students per class, allowing teachers to closely monitor each student's learning progress and provide more effective guidance and feedback.

• Improve your transferable skills: You will be immersed in an all-English educational environment and international bilingual campus life, which will subtly enhance your listening, speaking, reading, writing, and overall language expression skills.
• Guide your choices: Through content modules covering multiple disciplinary areas, you can comprehensively explore various fields of study and build a cognitive foundation for your future major selection. The content is strongly integrated with AI topics and closely aligned with contemporary social trends.
• Empower your competence: You will fully enhance the core skills and personal competitiveness required for university study. Upon completion, you will receive a certificate and letters of recommendation as evidence of your academic accomplishments and potential.
• Develop your self-confidence: Spending two weeks in an immersive English environment, you will become more well-rounded, confident, and comfortable working across cultures.
• Make new friends: You will meet like-minded peers from across China. Through team building, sports tasters, and a variety of other engaging activities, you can join them in vibrant experiences and share the energy and resonance of youth together.

Upon finishing the summer school program, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Completion issued by the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, recognizing their dedication and progress achieved. In addition to the certificate, UNNC will provide each participant with a Letter of Recommendation. The summer school experience not only strengthens students' confidence and intellectual curiosity but also enhances their competitiveness in gaining admission to renowned universities abroad.
