Are you an outdoor sports aficionado, or do you want to experience a cool new outdoor experience? Don’t hesitate further, consider joining CANN.
CANN is short for Climbing Association Nottingham Ningbo, which was established in 2017. The activities of CANN started out with just climbing but, as the club developed, so did the range of activities, which now include slacklining, ice climbing, trekking, mountaineering, skiing, and scuba diving.
On campus, you can experience weekly activities at the Climbing and Bouldering Walls. Off campus, the club’s activities go even further……they hold trekking trips to the surrounding area of Ningbo several times per semester and, in winter, they hold training for the preparation of climbing snow mountains. In summer, they hold activities such as scuba diving, and so on.
The club has dedicated coaches and some senior students who have been climbing/mountaineering for several years and who bring a wealth of experience. CANN ensures all students receive training to ensure they have all the skills and knowledge to undertake activities safely. For example, the club provides the opportunity to sign up for free top rope climbing lessons.
CANN are the biggest outdoor activity and adventure sports student community at UNNC, consisting of separate groups responsible for climbing, mountaineering, skiing, and more. This association is a paradise for UNNCers who enjoy outdoor sports and have a desire for nature and excitement!
