What is the NOTT Olympics?
The NOTT Olympics is the UNNC Sports Day. Elements of traditional sports days have been retained, such as some of the track and field events, however, a more inclusive and fun element has now been added to make the NOTT Olympics for everyone, regardless of ability.
What is the ethos of the NOTT Olympics?
The ethos of the NOTT Olympics is about participation, fun and representation. We know that not everyone enjoys sports but, simply put, we are not delivering sport - we are delivering a series of challenges, activities and games that anyone can take part in.
Who is NOTT Olympics for?
NOTT Olympics will be available for all students and staff to take part in which you compete for your Faculty or Department.
• STUDENT TEAMS: For students, we are aiming to crown the best faculty from FOB, FHSS & FOSE.
• STAFF TEAMS: For staff, the competition will be between FOB, FHSS, FOSE, CELE & Professional Services
New for this year, we are provide fauclty/department t-shirts for everyone who attends on the day.
NOTT Olympics Schedule
The NOTT Olympics will be opened by the Campus Run, the student track games will then follow this and during the track events the challenges, games and activites (CAGS) will be opened for all staff and students to take part in and gain points for their teams.
Campus Run (jog/walk)
Location: Athletics Track
Arrival: 8:30am
Start: 9am
Registration: 7-18th March.
The opening of the NOTT Olympics will be a mass participation 5k run, walk or jog. By registering and attending, you will get 10 points for your team. The top 8 finishes from Students and from Staff will then earn additional points for their faculty or department.

A more detailed schedule of events will be released once teams have registered.
A series of track, field and fun sports day activities will be delivered. Points will be awarded for people taking part and also for where they finish.

Challenges, Activities & Games (CAGS)
Location: Around the Sport Centre
Time: 11am - 4pm
We hope to get as many students and staff out as possible having fun and enjoying these activities for the 1st NOTT Olympics. A series of challenges, activities & games will be taking place around the sport centre for people to take part in and earn points for their team. There are 14 different challenges to try:
- Free throw basketball challenge
- Badminton challenge
- Disc Golf challenge
- Reaction light board challenge
- Woodball challenge
- Cycling challenge
- Rowing challenge
- Skittles
- Archery
- Table Tennis challenge
- Disc board challenge
- Disc archery challenge
- Teninis Challenge (NEW)
- Football Penalty Challenge (NEW)
CAGS will be live from 10am – 4pm and people are welcome to have a go whenever they wish during this time. CAGS will be located around different areas of the sport centre, so you can leisurely have a go throughout the day.
Points will be awarded for registering and attending as well as for any scores you achieve. Remember, simply taking part counts, so even just having a go will earn you points.

Volunteering
If you do not want to take part in the NOTT Olympics but still want to get points for your faculty, you can volunteer and help deliver the NOTT Olympics. Volunteers will gain points for their faculty for volunteering.
Registration of volunteers has now closed as we have reached capacity.
Training will be provided before the NOTT Olympics.
Staff Families

Staff families are encouraged and invited to take part in the NOTT Olympics, however, their points cannot be registered. No registration is needed, just come and take part.
