Nottingham Advantage Award –Data Scholarship
Starting in the year 2018-2019 Library Research and Learning Resources launched a new Nottingham Advantage Award – Data Scholarship to teach students data literacy skills for research purposes and university’s employability.
The module teaches Data Visualisation tools including: Python, Tableau, Stata, NVivo, etc.
Students are placed in a team together with supervision from a Research Librarian to gather and visualise data on a selected topic including:
- A cultural historical or sociological area of interest;
- learning and teaching data;
- business data; and
- artistic data.
Students investigate digital resources, books, existing data sets, archives, using these as a basis to create new data scholarship outputs.
