The Museum of UNNC is free to visit.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), the UNNC Museum was proudly opened in April 2024. Situated in a prime location in the east of the university’s iconic Trent Building, the Museum occupies 500 square metres and is home to two main sections: UNNC History Museum and The Lakeside Gallery. The UNNC Museum stands as a beacon of inclusivity, openness, and equality, striving to establish itself as a preeminent global cultural and artistic hub with Ningbo as its anchor.

About UNNC History Museum

UNNC History Museum weaves together the strands of time and space, using the chimes of the iconic Trent Building, which spans the distance between China and the UK and marks the confluence of centuries, as its narrative thread. It presents a rich tapestry of UNNC’s two decades of development through its five thematic sections: “Voice Line”, “Sound Field”, “Echo”, “Acoustic Image”, and “Resonance”, each leveraging a variety of multimedia to immerse visitors in the history of UNNC.

The Lakeside Gallery curates a series of engaging, research-driven exhibitions and events, ensuring a fresh and thought-provoking experience with each new season. It is set to enchant the public, gradually unveiling its mysterious charm. So come, join us for a leisurely saunter by the river, surrounded by the soul-stirring ambiance of art.

  • Individuals with access to the UNNC campus may visit the museum without prior reservation.
  • For external visitors, they should be invited by UNNC staff or students.

Visit Guidelines

  • Visitors must comply with the Museum's rules and the instructions of staff.
  • Please keep noise to a minimum and refrain from smoking, spitting and littering.
  • No food or drink is permitted in the exhibition areas.
  • Do not touch the exhibits and do not use flash when taking photographs.
  • It is strictly forbidden to bring flammable, explosive, toxic or dangerous items into the Museum.
  • Visitors should be properly dressed, courteous and respectful of others.
