Visiting Library

To support online teaching/learning in the special period, LRLR has made a contingent plan for staff and students who are on campus to visit the library for book borrowing and library material photocopying.

Service Hours:

8:30-12:00, 13:30-17:00

Monday-Sunday

From 19th Feb 2020 till normal opening

Guidelines

  • Service intended for staff and students on campus only
  • Visit the library for borrowing and photocopying only
  • Visit the library by appointment at least one hour in advance during service hours
  • Wearing a mask when in the library
  • Present the University Card to be admitted to the library  
  • Up to 5 concurrent access to the library
  • Encourage to request for the items needed and collect them at appointed time and date
  • Book 30-60mins for browsing and selecting from the shelves if it is needed, but cannot use the library space for study and any other purpose
  • Lend books via Self Check Machines
  • Return books via 24/7 Book Return without entering the library

Anyone who want to visit the library must follow our guidelines and request an advance appointment.

Appointment Procedures

  1. Check appointment availability information on Calendar before submitting a request
  2. Request an appointment by filling Library Visit Online Appointment Request Form
  3. Receive the confirmation email and pay a visit to the library

Inter-library Loan Services

For articles from local partnership library network, LRLR will provide the inter-library service free of charge. The resumption of inter-library loans of books will depend on the partnership library service arrangement.

You can access to Ningbo Digital Library for electronic resources in Chinese and resources beyond the university library. Please refer to the user guide.

 

Accessing E-resources off-campus

The Library has further invested in electronic resources, including e-books, e-journals and databases, to support student online learning. This is a step-by-step guide on how to access eResources from off campus. 
 

Accessing CNKI off-campus

The Chinese National Knowlwdge Infrastructure(中国知网) is the largest Chinese journals database in the world. It is now accessible after you login to the campus internal network.

Once you are connected to the campus internal network, you could access CNKI by  either NUsearch or the direct link https://www.cnki.net/.

 

Accessing E-textbooks off-campus

The Library has further invested in electronic books to support student online learning. This is a step-by-step guide on how to access eTextbooks off campus.

The Guide uses VitalSource Bridge as an example. It provides access to electronic textbooks published by major global publishers, including McGraw-Hill, Cengage and Pearson.

 

Platforms and Software

Moodle is the main online learning platform to implement UNNC Online Learning. MediaSpace, Ponapto, Echo360, Zoom, Microsoft Teams will also be utilised to offer you not only for taking lessons, lecture recording, but also for functions of teamwork, discussion, quiz, turning-in and communication after class.  If you have any difficulties using the above platform and software, please contact e-learning@nottingham.edu.cn.
