CIF organizes training sessions and conference activities, as well as helping to build a portfolio of strategic partnerships internationally and locally for university industry collaborations, government consultancy and corporate sponsorships.

The academic salon was delivered by Professor Martin Lockett, Dean of Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China) and Professor Sushanta Mallick from the School of Business and Management, Queen Mary University of London, UK.

On August 31 2018, Micro-Finance Forum was held at New International Conference Centre in UNNC. Two lectures and one roundtable discussion were held. The discussants are from various circles— the finance regulating department, such as the PBoC; the industry practitioners, such as PICC, Zheshang Bank, Tailong Bank, Junrun Capital, NBVC, etc.; as well as the academicians. During the roundtable discussion, experts and guests discussed the supports to micro enterprises from financial institutions and private capital.

On 24 November 2017, CIF organized a workshop on household finance and pensions. Dean of Nottingham University Business School China, Professor Martin Lockett and Principal Economist in the Division of Research and Statistics at the Federal Reserve Board, Dr. John Driscoll, were invited to deliver talks. Researchers from PBoC Ningbo Branch attended the workshop.

CIF invited Professor Justin Yifu Lin, the former Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of the World Bank, Director of the Centre for New Structural Economics, Peking University to the forum and delivered a lecture. Dr. Yong Wang, Deputy Director of Centre for New Structural Economics, also presented an academic lecture to the audience.

The 2-day training was informative with both theory and practice combined. Experts came from banks, securities, universities and regulators.

On Aug 2016, CIF held a 3-day training on social survey theory and method. The training programme covers sampling, questionnaire designing, social survey implementation, quality control and database set-up, cleaning and analysis. Staff from PBoC Ningbo, researchers from CIF, some UNNC academic staff and Ph.D. candidates attended the training.
