Biography
Professor Henry Jenkins is a Provost's Professor of Communication, Journalism, Cinematic Arts, and Education at the University of Southern California. He is also the founder and former co-Director of the Comparative Media Studies Program at MIT. Professor Jenkins has authored 20+ books on various aspects of media and popular culture, including Textual Poachers: Television Fans and Participatory Culture (1992), Convergence Culture: Where Old and New Media Collide (2006), Spreadable Media: Creating Meaning and Value in a Networked Culture (2013), By Any Media Necessary: The New Youth Activists (New 2016), Popular Culture and the Civic Imagination: Case Studies of Creative Social Change (2020) and Comics and Stuff (2020). Currently, he is co-authoring a book on Fan Relations with Robert Kozinets and another on Intergenerational Fandom with Susan Kresnicka and Sangita Shresthova.
