Research Training

Research training is an important element of the PGR Programme at UNNC. Postgraduate research is a process of personal development involving more than your specific research topic. Students are expected to acquire skills and knowledge in areas wider than their research topic as well as generic research, presentation and IT skills to enhance their personal development. The University concentrates on providing the training to ensure that all PGR students develop as rounded researchers, with skills and experience beyond those integral to their individual research topic.

There are a variety of online training courses on Workspace that are open to all postgraduate students. The Graduate School at UNNC is also developing a suite of comprehensive face-to-face training workshops and sessions. There are also training sessions useful to postgraduate research students that are provided by Centre for English Language Education, Library Services, E-learning and IT Services. The PGR Training Diary below brings all these available training sessions together for your easy access.

Research Integrity

Research Integrity is a professional commitment to conduct all research according to the appropriate legal, ethical and professional frameworks, obligations and standards. An awareness of research integrity helps protect and value individual researchers, research

subjects and the research organisation and contributes to the quality and excellence of research. Researchers must ensure that all research is subject to appropriate consideration of professional, ethical and legal issues.
