About UN SDGs
National Goal
To address the challenges of global climate change, China has clearly set forth the goals of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality," committing to the construction of a new green and low-carbon development framework. In this context, the Centre is actively responding to the national strategy by providing comprehensive support for the green transformation of enterprises. This initiative aims to facilitate the sustainable development of the economy and society, and to jointly build a beautiful China where humans and nature coexist in harmony.
Regional Needs
Ningbo is a globally renowned port city known for its foreign trade, manufacturing, and other private enterprise economies. Centre for Responsible Business and Innovation (CRBI) will focus on Ningbo's regional characteristics and the sustainable development challenges faced by private enterprises, helping local businesses transition to a low-carbon circular economy. CRBI will empower them on ESG practices in social responsibility and green innovation, enhancing their competitiveness.
Support from School
The Nottingham University Business School China is located at the China‘s first Sino-foreign university——the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), and it maintains close ties with UNUK and UNM. The establishment of Centre for Responsible Business and Innovation is in line with the tri-campus Sustainability Strategy, pursuing sustainable development unwaveringly, and aligning with the Business School’s goals under the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) directions.
