Abstract: Our planet is in danger. Human’s consumption patterns and behaviours are putting our environment at risk, depleting finite resources and polluting our air, soil and waterways. There are however ways we could reduce the negative effects of these activities. This talk will provide the context of the environmental crisis we are facing now, and elaborate the importance of changing our behaviours to mitigate these effects. We will discuss what we could do as part of the UNNC Community to help the environment. Examples will include water and energy conservation, the 5Rs (Reuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rot), our consumption patterns and illustrate how choices made by us on campus could positively impact our environment and planet.
