LRLR encourages Faculty to recommend a database for purchase. All completed database recommendation forms will be sent to the Library Acquisition Librarian, who will contact the requestor and begin a formal review and possible trial. A trial allows the library to evaluate the database and gather valuable feedback from the trialled users in order to make an informed purchasing decision.
Timeline for library database acquisition process:
There are two rounds of database open trial for each academic year.
The budget planning in May for next fiscal year will consider both trial results from 1st round (Oct.-Nov. for Autumn semester) and 2nd round (Mar.-Apr. for Spring semester).
