Jeyhun HALBAYEV:

Jeyhun's research studies the relationship between sovereign Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks and national labor market outcomes across a global panel of 135 countries over 33 years. While extensive literature examines corporate ESG impacts on firm-level employment, the direct effects of country-level ESG performance on labor force participation and sectoral employment remain critically understudied. His work decomposes composite ESG indices into environmental, social, and governance pillars to identify which dimensions drive employment outcomes. The research addresses endogeneity concerns and provides policy-relevant insights for just transitions, contributing to understanding how ESG policies can be designed to protect employment while advancing sustainability goals across different country contexts.

Chenyu Ma

Chenyu’s research investigates the field of green finance, with a specific focus on Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs). As private capital plays an increasingly vital role in financing climate-related industries, the equity market has emerged as a crucial funding avenue. However, it remains under-investigated whether recent ETF inflows actually translate into improvements in firms’ fundamental values and real economic activities. By exploring the connection between equity market dynamics and firm-level outcomes, this research aims to provide evidence-based policy recommendations for the development of green-labeled financial assets.
