Hao-Tien Lan

My name is Hao-Tien LAN, currently majoring in International Business Management. It is a great honour for me to receive Dream Scholarship this time, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the founder of Dream Scholarship- President Yang Fu Jia. With the recognition of the Dream Scholarship, I will continually pursue my dream and develop myself in the future.

In academic year 2019-2020, I have received 3 scholarships including the Head's scholarship, Besides, I was elected as the Director of Consultant Team in Campus Ambassadors and was served as the vice director of the Human Resources Department in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Student Union.

2020 was a remarkable year, in which I took a step closer to my dream - I created my own company. The idea of starting a business started from a summer social practice I participated in. At the time, I was teaching in a remote village in Jiangsu Province, and after observing the limited access to resources for the children there, I had the idea to help them learn about world cultures more easily. I plan to introduce foreign contents into china so that those children with fewer resources can still learn about foreign culture though the internet after we left. Therefore, I started CyberBroad, which is committed to bringing in content creators globally to create a diverse cultural platform. And my efforts have yielded good results. Currently, Our company has signed contracts with various well-known platform including zhihu, bilibili and iqiyi. a revenue of more than 350,000 RMB from single platform in less than a year and the number of followers throughout the network is over 20 million. Through this kind of entrepreneurship experience, I have enriched and expanded my practical skills and fulfilled my initial dream of helping children with limited resources to learn about foreign cultures. I firmly believe that the future is unknown, but with dreams, it is possible to achieve.
