Professor Zhao Cai is a Professor in Information Systems at Nottingham University Business School China, University of Nottingham Ningbo China. His research area includes digital supply chain management, platform competition, and platform operations management. As a guest lecturer, he delivered sessions on platform operations in executive training programmes. He also participated in various knowledge exchange activities including collaborations with companies in various industries such as online freight, live streaming, cross-border ecommerce, social media, among others. 

 

Overview

In the era of digitalization, business operations have been significantly changed by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, big data, and Internet of Things. Enterprises are compelled to embrace this trend by digitalizing and redesigning their operations to accommodate novel business models. It is challenging for practitioners to determine how to improve business operations to be integrated in platform ecosystems to create value for all stakeholders. This programme aims to introduce cutting-edge western digital operations theories which are appropriate to be applied in China. Participants will develop critical thinking and digital mindset by applying operations theories in the context of Chinese and oversea digital platforms.
