MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management

Open to all disciplines, applicants need to provide following three documents:

  • Applicant's CV
  • A business plan1
  • Personal statement2

1: In the business plan, applicants may describe the business opportunity they identify, how they want to pursue and why this is an attractive business. Please keep the business plan within 5 pages.

2: Applicants should describe their particular interest in entrepreneurship in the personal statement. For example, intention to start their own business in the future; or intention to work in an entrepreneurial/innovation-driven firm; or intention to take over their family business etc...

MSc Finance and Investment

Applicants need to have sufficient exposure to finance and accounting modules or degree.

MSc Finance and Investment (Professional Accounting)
  • Applicants must have demonstrated a basic knowledge in accounting either through the completion of Financial Accounting and Financial Reporting courses, or through passing the ICAEW examination in Accounting.
  • For international applicants, Chinese language level of HSK4 or above, subject to further assessment.
  • Interview may also be required due to limited places.
MSc International Business

Open to all disciplines with the exception of Business or Management.

MSc International Business (Supply Chain Management)

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in business, management, engineering or science-related disciplines.

MSc International Management

Applicants should have a business related Bachelor's degree such as management, business studies, marketing, economics, accounting or finance.

MSc International Management (Business Analytics)

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree which includes substantial mathematical/statistical content, such as management, business studies, economics, accounting, finance, engineering, computer science, mathematics or statistics. 

MSc International Management (Marketing)

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in a related subject, such as management, business studies, marketing, economics, accounting, finance, and Communications. Excluding degrees with a substantial amount of marketing.

 

Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

MSc Finance and Investment (Economics, Money and Finance)

Upper second class honors degree (2:1) or international equivalent with significant economics content and good performance in mathematics.

MA Applied Linguistics

This course is full-time only.

  • Upper second class honors degree (2:1) or international equivalent in any subject.
  • Applicant's CV and an academic writing sample should be provided. Writing sample could be a section from the dissertation/essay or a translated section from the dissertation or a translated essay (word length: around 1,000 words).
  • All applicants must achieve the minimum entry criteria1 of IELTS 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in each of the individual bandings. All applicants must also complete an interview with the course admissions tutor.

1: To qualify for an interview, students must ordinarily fully meet the IELTS entry requirement at their point of application. However, potential students applying to the course may be considered for an interview, if their total IELTS score is no less than 0.5 band below the stipulated entry requirements. In such cases, depending on their interview outcome, students may be offered a conditional offer based on their successful completion of an English language pre-sessional programme.

MA Interpreting and Translation, Mandarin and English

This course is full-time only.

  • Upper second class honors degree (2:1) or international equivalent in any subject.
  • Applicants may be required to attend an interview and aptitude tests before admission to the course if their linguistic and intellectual suitability for the course is not apparent from their qualifications.
  • HSK (Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì) requirements: 6 for non-Chinese speakers
MA International Higher Education
  • Upper second class honors degree (2:1) or international equivalent in any subject and a minimum of 1 year's work experience in the field of education for applicants on a part-time basis.
  • All applicants must achieve the minimum entry criteria1 of IELTS 6.5 overall with no less than IELTS 6.0 in each of the individual bandings. All applicants must also complete an interview with the course admissions tutor.

Faculty of Science and Engineering

MSc Computer Science

2:1 level or above (or international equivalent) in an appropriate subject. Applicant's CV should be provided. Non-Computer Science background applicants should supply relevant supporting documents to demonstrate their capability or experience in Computer Science.

MSc Urbanism and Sustainable Environments
  • Upper 2nd class honours degree or above or international equivalent
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline: Urban Planning/Design, Urban Studies, Architecture, Architectural Studies, Geosciences, Geography, Environmental Sciences, Civil Engineering, Built Environment, Surveying, Computer Science or closely related degrees.
  • Applicants need to submit a design portfolio or a illustrated representative case-project, in PDF format (maximum 35MB).
  • Applicants need submit a minimum of two reference letters.
  • For applicants who are recent graduates, at least one of the reference letters should be from a full-time faculty member of their university, who is an Assistant Professor or higher.
  • Candidates to submit all application-related / supporting documents as PDF or JPG files ONLY (or other applicable multimedia formats, e.g. .mov), while NOT uploading raw document processing files, such as MS Word .doc files. In addition NO compression into .zip or .raw.
