Strong links with China, UK and international companies offer our graduates excellent prospects for employment, research training and professional recognition. The BEng Architectural Environment Engineering course involves the use of modern and environmentally friendly technologies to create comfortable and efficient indoor environments. BEng (Hons)Architecture (Arch)

Careers

You may continue with architecture, undertaking a year of supervised professional experience (year-out), followed by the two-year MArch Architecture (RIBA Part II), and a further year in industry to achieve professional architect status in the UK. However, this route requires ARB examination and registration, which is separate to RIBA.

Alternatively, you can undertake a route for registration as an architect in China. This requires examinations and some years of work experience.

Students graduating from BEng in Architecture are encouraged to find jobs in China or abroad. As a graduate, undertaking a route towards full RIBA registration is a possibility. If this route is selected, students are required to maintain PEDR sheets recording their practice experience by registering on the RIBA Professional Education and Development website. The PEDR site also contains additional advice for students deciding to pursue the year-out. PEDRs will need to be completed quarterly and must be signed by a Professional Study Advisor.

Professional Validation

This course is validated by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

An accredited degree will provide you with some or all of the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills for eventual registration as an architect.

Industry comments on our graduates

Helen joined MDO in 2015 after graduating from UNNC.  She quickly became an integral part of the team, both through her professional approach to her work and by her happy and friendly manner.

She worked on a range of projects, from concept stage to construction, and I believe that she learned a lot preparing her for her next stage of education and future as an architect.

We hope Helen will consider joining MDO again when she returns from the UK!
