Innovative teaching and learning spaces
The Library is home to several innovate learning spaces that can be booked by staff and students to run designated collaborative and active learning activities, workshops or events.
Wonder Lab
This space has been designed for active and collaborative learning, accommodating up to four groups for presentations, breakout discussions, and hands-on workshops. The table height can be adjusted for flexible setups, and the foldable wall doubles as a whiteboard. Each group has access to a touch screen, and a touch table is also available for interactive collaboration. The design encourages movement and interaction, with furniture and technology working together to support different teaching and learning styles.

Lego Lab
The LEGO® Lab provides brick sets for robotics, computer science, architecture or engineering teaching. It can be booked by staff and students for designated activities, projects, events and workshops and for those who want to explore the benefits of LEGO® pedagogy.
XR Studio
The XR Studio is a dedicated space for exploring virtual, augmented and extended reality, as well as gaming on both VR and PC platforms. The studio provides access to state of the art XR equipment and high performance workstations, available for teaching, research, student projects, gaming, and other activities. Technical support is on hand to assist with setup and troubleshooting. Throughout the year, the studio hosts workshops and open sessions for students to experiment with immersive tools, platforms, and game titles. The space can be booked for individual or group use. Whether you are new to XR, gaming, or working on advanced projects, the studio offers a collaborative environment to support your learning and creative work.
Equipment available: HTC VIVE Pro 2, Meta Quest 2, Apple Vision Pro, HP Reverb G2, Pico 4 Enterprise, Insta360 X5, Workstations and Steam.
