Student organisation SPDPO won Dream Scholarship Group Award

Recently, UNNC Dream Scholarship winners were officially announced and the Student Personal Development Programme Office (SPDPO) won the Group Award. As an important charitable project of UNNC Education Foundation, the Dream Scholarship was donated by late UNNC President Yang Fujia in 2013, aiming to award students with outstanding performances in their extracurricular activities and their endeavours to pursue their dreams. There are 3 types of awards: Individual Award, Group Award, and Dream Fund for student organisations. The scholarship is of great significance to stimulating students' passions for pursuing dreams, promoting their moral intellectual and physical development, inspiring students' enthusiasm for learning and improving.
Established in 2006, the Student Personal Development Programme Office (SPDPO) is affiliated to the University of Nottingham Ningbo Communist Youth League Committee. The academic branch, Supervision and Complaints Department, the Publicity Department and Human Resources Department all work together on the project activities credit system of project activities, and holding campus activities or undertake large-scale inter-university activities. SPDPO has supported 170 Credit activities this semester, with activities open to all first years and some senior students. Additionally, SPDPO planned and organised the "Break with convention" Credit activity during orientation week, aiming to let first years quickly familiarise themselves with the campus rules and Credit Policy.
Yukai Huang, Director of SPDPO, is now a third year student majoring in Mathematics. “There are 58 members in our organisation. We work together to make every event run smoothly. We are a team full of harmony, joviality and cohesion, we are not only colleagues but also close friends with each other. We have the same goals, which is to provide better services for our schoolmates”, introduced by Yukai.
In June 2022, based on their previous experience, SPDPO revised the credit policy framework for Quality Expansion Credits and Health and Safety Credits. It improved the students’ experience and also enhanced teamwork with various UNNC departments. As well as this, SPDPO designed and printed the first edition of the "Credit Policy Introduction" handbook during the summer vacation. These handbooks were delivered to every first year during i-week. With this comprehensive introduction to the Credit Policy, all first years have been able to better understand the system and make plans for their studies.
In addition, SPDPO has promoted digital transformation of the organisation, which has improved the Credit System. This system has reduced the manual work of othe staff and has massively improved work efficiency, receiving very positive feedback. SPDPO will continue to refining their work, improving the level of service they provide their peers and efficiency.

I sincerely thank everyone for their support and encouragement. It is your feedback that motivates us to continuously improve and perfect our work. Receiving the Dream Scholarship is not only an affirmation but also a motivation to encourage us to constantly introspect, improve and optimise. We plan to use the scholarship to optimise our Credit System further to reach more students and appreciate the panel’s trust in awarding us the scholarship. We will keep our late President’s goals at the forefront of our work, believing in ourselves and chasing our dreams. In the future, SPDPO will continue showing its values of respect, listening to feedback, taking our work seriously and enthusiastically helping every student."
