The International Education Week at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China aims to emphasize the enhancement of students' intercultural awareness through an internationalized educational approach, promoting communication and cooperation of positive educational elements on a global setting. We create a fantastic experience of international education through a variety of intriguing activities, connecting staff and students from different countries and regions through innovative models, deepening their understanding and respect for different cultures, broadening their perspectives and ways of thinking, and achieving a synergy among diverse cultures.

The 2023 International Education Week, themed ‘Education without boundaries’, aims to enhance students' moral and intellectual development, highlight the unique advantages of globalized education and strengthen the University's reputation and social impact. We hope to inspire students and staff to embrace an international perspective and think beyond cultural boundaries. Therefore, we have prepared a series of events, including the Global Village, an Orchestra Concert, Chinese Night and many more to reflect the theme.

What a small world: an invitation to embrace diverse cultural heritage

Education knows no borders. It is our great fortune to bring people from all over the world together here. The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) has always maintained a culture of freedom, equality, inclusiveness, and diversity, where people from different cultural backgrounds can receive an international education and share unique intercultural perspectives. International Education Week, combined with the University Open Day, invites more external visitors to come to campus, embrace multiculturalism, and experience diverse cultures of different countries and regions.

Connecting Across Borders: Making Friends in a Global Community

Friendship knows no boundaries. People from different parts of the world break down barriers and build up their friendships here. UNNC has always been committed to fostering an international campus community, with around 9,000 students and staff from over 70 countries and regions. UNNC brings partners from different parts of the world together, and provides a stage for every student to shine. This series of themed events, including Chinese Night, a visit to the Asian Sailing Centre, and Spring Ball, will invite Chinese and international students to build bridges for cross-cultural exchange and establish close relationships between friends from different countries.

Showcasing Talent: University's Impact on the Local Arts Scene

Art knows no boundaries, and good art deserves wider attention. UNNC has always been committed to fostering a nurturing environment of art education on campus, inviting outstanding artists from all over the world to hold various art-related activities. Following the concept of being "boundless," UNNC further promotes its understanding and outcome of art education outside the campus in the form of exhibitions and concerts, building a bridge for cultural exchange, enhancing the University's influence upon local art and culture, and providing opportunities for more people to access international art initiatives.
