2024/25 Careers and Employability Report

A survey of the 2025 UNNC undergraduates recruited through the Chinese National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao) shows that the employment rate for the cohort was as high as 95.2%. 87.4% of the 2025 graduates went on to further study, 7.5% went directly to work and 0.3% founded their own businesses.

Nearly 90% of 2025 undergraduates entered graduate school for further study, among which 47.7% received offers from a top 10 university, 86.7% from a top 50 university, and 97.8% from a top 100 university. Among the undergraduates choosing to enter the job market directly, over 84% were employed by Fortune Global 500 companies, China's Top 500 companies, industry-leading enterprises, public institutions, and state agencies, including EY, Deloitte, Beijing ByteDance Technology Co., Ltd., China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Drug Rehabilitation Center.

For master's graduates, the employment rate is 95.0%. 80.6% proceeded directly to work, while 6.1% continued onto further education and 3.9% decided to start up a business. For master's graduates who worked directly after graduation, 89.4% go to Fortune Global 500 companies, China's Top 500 companies, industry-leading enterprises, public institutions, and state agencies, including EY, PwC, CNPC Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd., and Beijing Jingdong Century Trading Co., Ltd.

All PhD graduates secured their employment. Over 70% held teaching and research positions in universities such as Tsinghua University, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, Zhejiang University, etc. Nearly 20% headed to work in research institutions, medical institutions and other public institutions. Nearly 8% found jobs in well-known enterprises such as State Grid Corporation of China.

Not only did they demonstrate deep and flexible thinking, but they also highlighted their solid professional foundation, clear logic, and confident, composed communication, showcasing outstanding competence and potential for solving real-world problems.

As for International and China's Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan graduates, 26.2% of them chose to stay in Mainland China for further education or employment, whereas 73.8% chose to study and work overseas. Employers include large foreign and joint ventures, as well as renowned Chinese enterprises. Many master's and PhD graduates are employed at higher educational institutions, including Beihang University, University of Alberta, Aalborg University and the University of Nottingham Ningbo China.
