Led and initiated by Nottingham University Business School China, Ningbo Research Base on Dual Circulation and Economic Development was successfully selected and approved by Ningbo Social Science Academy in the 'development' category of the fifth round list of Ningbo Social Science Research Base in November 2020. The Research Base is led by a strong research team and will enhance connectivity with research institutions and government institutes both locally and internationally. The construction of the research base lasted for three years. In recent years, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) has attached great importance to social science research. The approval of the research base provides new platforms for UNNC to further social sciences research and contribute to the economic and social development of Ningbo.
Based on the development difficulties of Ningbo and the strength of the research team, the research base mainly studies four areas relating to the economic and political issues under the 'Dual Circulation' development pattern. Four main areas include cross-border trade, innovation and entrepreneurship, digital economy, and supply chain management. It cooperated with universities and research institutions at home and abroad and give full play to the strength of advantageous disciplines, focusing on the development difficulties of Ningbo under the ‘Dual Circulation’ development pattern. It aims at producing high-quality research output to promote Ningbo’s social and economic development under the pattern of ‘Dual Circulation’ development.
