21 November: The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) secured the prestigious "Education Partnership Award" at the British Business Awards (BBA) held in Shanghai. This accolade is a significant endorsement of UNNC's exemplary role in Sino-British educational exchanges and cooperation, highlighting its unique value as an essential bridge connecting China with the world.
The BBA, organised annually by the British Chamber of Commerce, recognises outstanding achievements by businesses and individuals worldwide in areas such as innovation, sustainability, and international trade.
Thomas Murphy, Chief Financial and Planning Officer of UNNC, remarked that the award symbolises the leading excellence of UNNC in Sino-foreign higher education; it stands as a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, staff, and partners as well as a recognition to the university's commitment to the future. "Together, we have demonstrated the power of collaboration and the limitless potential of education to transform lives," he said.
In recent years, UNNC has consistently set new benchmarks in Sino-foreign educational cooperation, garnering multiple honours at the British Business Awards: in 2022, it won the "Diversity and Inclusion Award", in 2021 it received the "Community and Culture Award", and in 2016 it secured the "Education Institutional Partnership of the Year".
This year in addition to the "Education Partnership Award", UNNC is also a contender for the "Innovation Award". Furthermore, UNNC alums Niannian Lian and Assistant Professor of Economics, Yifei Cao, have been nominated for the "Distinguished Alumnus Award".
As the first Sino-foreign university, UNNC has pioneered the integration of international educational resources with domestic strategic educational demands, providing high-quality international higher education to Chinese students.
