Under what circumstances can I take my resit examinations overseas?

August overseas exam arrangements are only made for students:

  • Who are normally resident overseas and have exams in August exam period; and
  • Whose modules are allowed to be taken overseas.

Please note: Overseas exam arrangements will not be made for students who are on holiday or temporarily overseas during the published examination periods (24 August – 5 September 2026).

Resit examinations for Year 1: 

Monday 24 August  - Saturday 29 August 2026

Resit examinations for Year 2/3/4/Master: 

Monday 24 August - Saturday 5 September 2026 - excluding 30 August 2026

 

How much does it cost to take resit examinations overseas?

You shall pay all local charges and/or costs directly to the administering overseas institution that making the local exam arrangements.

UNNC do not charge students for overseas administrative fees.

 

What to do if you want to take resit examinations overseas

[Please complete Step 1-3 before 17:00pm, 17 July 2026 (Beijing, China time)]

Step 1 - Module check.

Students to check if all their exams can be taken overseas here.

*If any one of the students’ exams could not be taken overseas, the students must take all their exams in UNNC campus.

Step 2 - Institution liaison.

Students choose one overseas institution in this list, contact them via the provided email address, and seek their confirmation on being able to facilitate the exams.

*In circumstances where the overseas institution cannot support the overseas requests, or the overseas exams cannot be arranged at the same time as UNNC exams due to time difference, students must return to UNNC to complete the assessment.  

 Step 3 - Information submission

  1. Fill in the overseas application link.
  2. Send the overseas institution’s confirmation e-mail (in Step 2) to EXAMS@nottingham.edu.cn.

Step 4 - Receive exam arrangement.

Students will receive individual exam timetable from EXAMS@nottingham.edu.cn.

 

[10 - 21 August 2026]

Step 5 - Institution liaison & Fee payment.

Students contact the chosen overseas institution to confirm all the final arrangements and pay overseas fees to the institution. It is the students’ responsibility to ensure that the overseas exam arrangements are being made accordingly.

 

[24 Aug - 5 Sept 2026]

Step 6- Attend the exam.

Students take their University ID card or ID booklet to attend the exams.

 

Cancelling your overseas exam arrangements.

If you decide to return to University of Nottingham Ningbo China to sit your exam(s), you will need to notify exams@nottingham.edu.cn to ensure your onsite exam(s) are arranged before 17:00, 24 July 2026 (Beijing, China time). 

*In the event that a student incurs fees due to cancellation of an examination, the student should contact the relevant overseas institution directly. All such fees shall be covered by the student.
