Making Memory in City

19 May 2022

During the graduation season, professors and students from the Department of Architecture and Built Environment (FoSE), organised an exhibition called "Making Memory in City", which is based on the city memory to showcase the teaching, research and practical achievements of Design Studio Unit 3 and NUML in the past year. Let’s approach the exhibition closer to enjoy the fun of Architecture.

The gallery displays NUML's research results on the memory of Ningbo city: from the map of the Port city to black and white old photos of old newspapers, from the Bund to the records of walking and interviewing in the city -- we tell our memories and impressions of Ningbo here. At the same time, this is an exhibition created by us and you, each of you is a narrator and builder of Ningbo.

The corridor exhibits two projects of Unit 3 in year 2 -- Social Housing and Cultural Hub. These two projects respectively reflect the thinking and discussion on the way of life and entertainment in the future. At the same time, the viewer will feel the readability charm of the architectural physical model.

The exhibition hall displays the urban renewal project of Unit 3 in the old Bund of Ningbo in the first semester of year 3. The site, which starts at the Old City Exhibition hall and ends at the Baisha Community, includes urban renewal at different scales. The theme of the three groups of projects is Market Street, Carnival City and Port Identity, which seek to provide new paradigms for the development of Ningbo.
