University of Nottingham Ningbo China Loctek Scholarship Evaluation Regulation
Loctek Scholarship was established by Loctek Ergonomics Technology Co., Ltd. in 2020, Loctek is a public listed company in China, and a top manufacturer of ergonomic solution products. The Scholarship aims to encourage students of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China to improve their employability through internships, develop innovative thinking abilities, and solve practical problems in the industry. The Scholarship Selection will officially start from Academic Year 2022-2023. The following sections provide specific information related to the Scholarship application and evaluation.
Section 1. Selection Committee
1. Each of the three Faculties shall establish a Selection Committee to organize the Scholarship review, Scholarship winners’ selection and other related matters. Each Faculty shall appoint specific staff as the members in its Selection Committee.
Section 2. Scholarship Amount and Quota
2. The Scholarship offers 50 places with 10,000 RMB per person for Academic Year 2022-2023. According to the donor’s wishes, the allocation quota for each Faculty is as follows:
· Faculty of Business: 20 places
· Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences: 20 places
· Faculty of Science and Engineering: 10 places
Section 3. Scholarship Application Conditions
3. Necessary conditions to apply for Loctek Scholarship are:
1) Applicants are to be full-time Year 2, Year 3 or Year 4 undergraduate students registered in University of Nottingham Ningbo China. Year 3 and Year 4 students enrolled under “2+2 model” from 2022-2023 are not eligible.
2) Applicants are to have participated in one or more of Nottingham Advantage Award, internship, scientific research, or innovation and entrepreneurship activities.
Note: Electronic versions of activity participation proofs are to be submitted. Activities/awards without official proof will not be considered.
3) Applicants are not to have failed any modules or have re-sit exams during the study period in UNNC.
4) Applicants must not have any disciplinary or academic misconduct record during the study period.
4. Selection criteria for Loctek Scholarship
1) Preliminary Review
Applicants’ academic performance, assignment score and the internship experience in Loctek. Candidates will be screened according to their overall score.
a) Applicant’s average score during last academic year, with submission of a scanned copy of the academic transcript issued by Academic Service Office. The average academic score counts for 40% of the total.
b) Applicant is required to submit a written assignment in English. Topics of the assignment and requirement are related to the industry and enterprise, and determined by both Faculty Selection Committee and Loctek. The topics will be announced before the application starts. Each Committee will invite Loctek to participate to score the assignment. The assignment score counts for 40% of the total.
c) If the applicant has internship experience in Loctek, he or she can get points according to the score on the internship certificate issued by Loctek. The full score for long-term internship (more than 2 months (contains 2 months)) is 100 points. The full score for short-term internship (more than 20 days and within 2 months) is 50 points. The internship can be either on-site or online, the duration of online internship will be converted accordingly. The final score will be verified by each Faculty Selection Committee, and it counts for 20% of the total.
Example: Applicant A’s average score for last academic year was 60 points, the open question’s score is 70 points. A attended the short-term internship in Loctek and was given a score 40 points by Loctek. The overall score for A is 60 points*40%+70 points*40%+40 points*20%=60 points.
2) Final Review：
The Faculty Selection Committee will organise the final review in the format of presentations, interviews or other approaches as appropriate to arrive at the final list of winners.
Section 4. Application, Submission and Schedule
5. The application includes:
a) Loctek Scholarship Application Form (e-version).
b) Scanned copies of the original supporting materials (e-version)
6. The application form is to be submitted with relevant e-version supporting materials by following each Faculty’s instructions. Applicants must complete the application form and the assignment in English. The final review will be conducted in English. The Scholarship winners should prepare the testimonials (in English, 400-600 words) and submit personal photos and contact information within 15 days after the final announcement, and attend interviews organized by the Education Foundation or other official medias.
7. The detailed timeline for the selection will be announced through each Faculty’s email. Overdue materials shall be deemed as invalid materials.
Section 5. Announcement and Issue of Scholarship
8. The final Loctek Scholarship winners list will be announced by Careers and Employability Service through email, Student Portal and social media platform.
9. The Loctek Scholarship Certificates will be prepared and distributed by Careers and Employability Service, the scholarship will be delivered from Finance Office upon the approval from Education Foundation.
10. The Careers and Employability Service and Education Foundation reserve the right of final interpretation of this regulation.
