In November 2023, the UNNC NUBS China Centre for Responsible Business and Innovation (CRBI) held a grand unveiling and donation ceremony. Zhejiang Yuhuang Shannan Private Equity Fund Management Co., Ltd. generously donated RMB 1 million to the University of Nottingham Ningbo China Education Foundation, to support research, teaching, and exchange in the field of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). This donation aims to address global environmental challenges and crises, as well as promote sustainable development and responsible business practices.
Alumni leading the way, investing in UNNC for a shared sustainable future
Zhejiang Yuhuang Shannan Private Equity Fund Management Co., Ltd., one of the first three private asset allocation fund management companies registered with the China Securities Investment Fund Association, was founded by Mr Hu Juewen (Rocky), an alumnus of the International Business Management programme at UNNC. This donation from the company will greatly support CRBI’s research in the field of ESG. The centre will conduct a series of studies to produce high-quality academic papers and establish a highly influential regional centre in ESG and sustainable practices. It will also promote private enterprises to supervise, support, and drive the evolution of ESG strategies in a constantly changing environment. Furthermore, the centre aims to shape the right culture and mindset, attract private enterprises to participate in and strengthen ESG practices, and cultivate talents who can promote ESG strategies and achievements in private enterprises, enhancing their brand value and competitive advantage.

The donation from the company to UNNC is significant, with it conveying the concept of ESG to students, cultivating their ESG awareness, and promoting their own sustainable career development. Additionally, by supporting academic research and project initiatives in the field of ESG at the NUBS CRBI, it will enhance the academic and social impact of the Business School’s ESG work..
