Abstract:

We sometimes find economics difficult and boring. Textbooks are too general, and research papers are too academic. How can we train our economic and critical thinking and connect it with real economic issues? Well, as you will find out in Economics Funfair, economists are actually adorable and their researches can be fun. Of course, having fun is not the only objective here. We will see what economists and governments really care about in reality, and we can learn their ways of thinking and methods of analysis. Learning the most frontiers of economics without tears, we can do it.

About the Speaker:

Dr Jiarui Zhang obtained a dual Bachelor degree in Economics and Mathematics from Renmin University of China, followed by a PhD in Economics from University of Munich, Germany. He teaches Quantitative Methods 2A and International Economics. His main research interests are macroeconomics, monetary policy, and China’s economic reform.
