XR and GAI have been increasingly integrated and implemented in various applications. XR, including Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR), offers immersive experiences that revolutionise user interaction with digital environments. The integration of XR with GAI leverages advanced and innovative way of creating new content and solutions which present transformative possibilities across multiple research fields. This project aimed to explore the integration of XR and GAI to develop innovative solutions for real-world challenges. The vision covering the creation of immersive environments enhanced by AI-generated content, which could be applied in fields such as education, healthcare, entertainment, and industrial training. Realising this vision could significantly improve user engagement, learning outcomes, and operational efficiencies.
Key research topics for PhD study included, but were not limited to:
- Development of GAI-Enhanced XR Applications in Education & Healthcare
- Generative AI Models for Virtual Content Creation & Modelling in XR Environments
- Human-Computer Interaction and User Experience Design in XR with GAI
- Real-Time Data Integration and Analysis in XR
PhD candidates who have fundamental research experience in relevant areas such as machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, human-computer interaction, and other related fields are encouraged to apply. Candidates with backgrounds in Computer Science, Education (Social Sciences), and related disciplines were preferred.
