Applying to UNNC

Before you apply

Deadline for 2023 September entry: 30 June 2023

English language test scores and/or diploma certificates should normally be received by the International Admissions Office before 15 July 2023.

 *For General scholastic ability test (GSAT) students, the closing date for application is 31 May 2023. 

What if my results are released after 15 July 2023?

The University will make exceptions for students studying qualifications where results are officially released after 15 July 2023. These include the HKDSE, GCSEs, A-level results and others. If your results are released after 15 July 2023, please email us at  International_admissions@nottingham.edu.cn to inform us.

Please note you should not submit any supporting materials (including essays) that you would like to be returned to you. It is the University's policy not to return application materials.

What should my application include?

Your application should include the following materials:

  • One recommendation letter on headed paper, signed and/or stamped
  • Transcript of school exam results (completed or results so far)
  • High School Certificate
  • English language test score report if already received (e.g. IELTS or PTE)
  • Personal Statement
  • One photocopy of the main pages from your passport
  • One 2*2 inch color bareheaded photo with white background (Note: the head occupies two thirds of the size of the photo; no less than 320 × 240 pixels, the aspect ratio is 4: 3; the size is 100-500kb; jpg format)

Documents submitted in a language other than English must be accompanied by a complete English translation made by an accredited translator.

For Hong Kong students, please provide a copy of Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card. 

For Macau students, please provide a copy of Macau Permanent Identity Card.

For Taiwan students, please provide a copy of both sides of Mainland travel permit for Taiwan residents.


Please note that applications can be made pending final results or during your final year of school/university education. Conditional offers will be made where appropriate and students will have until 15 July 2023 to provide their results.

You should be prepared to provide original documents or original certified copies of supporting documents at registration and upon request at any time. Failure to do so may result in your candidacy being rejected.
