About us

Our reputation for excellence in engineering rests on the highest standards of teaching and learning, underpinned by internationally leading research. We recruit top-quality students who are taught by experienced academics who are leaders in their field. Their expertise is reflected in our teaching and brings a unique advantage to our undergraduate degrees which are respected and valued by industry and commerce worldwide.

We offer a good balance of classroom lectures with ‘hands-on’ practical experience in our workshops and labs - all of which equipped with the most up-to-date facilities. We work closely with the real world of industry so that our courses provide many opportunities for students to get involved with real engineering challenges, making things more fun for our students, and providing them with first-hand experience of what engineering is about. Our graduates leave us with the skills and knowledge that employers really want.

Students can select from the range of undergraduate course shown on the following pages. Initially, all these degrees follow a common series of modules which provide a broad view of the subject. Students will begin to specialise in their chosen field part-way through year two.

The degree is offered as a three or four-year programme depending on your entry qualification. Students have the option to study the whole course in China or spend their last two years at The University of Nottingham, UK.

Our teaching is delivered through lectures and supported by smaller tutorials and seminars with plenty of opportunity for hands-on practical sessions in our extensive engineering laboratories.

Assessment is based on course and project work, examination, individual essays and presentations.
