2020 NSFC Workshop Series

The National Natural Science Foundation of China programme (NSFC) is a very significant and competitive funding opportunity at the national level that support fundamental research activities and available for both domestic and overseas staff in UNNC.
To stimulate the scientific research enthusiasm and further promote NSFC application, NSFC Workshop Series including public talks, experience sharing and one to one sessions have been organized by the University Research Development Office and the Faculties from December 2019 to January 2020. The external experts in various fields were invited. (Please see the experts and topics listed below.)
From the perspective of an International staff to the Chinese funding system, Prof. James Greer shared the experience on the preparation of NSFC proposals and the application process.
Prof. Fu Liu received six funds from NSFC, he shared the lessons and experience of getting the proposal polished and on the reviewer’s feedback.
Prof. Lirong Long’s talk was humorous, logical and full of real life examples. He introduced his application experience and made a comprehensive analysis from the aspects of topic selections, contents, and feasibilities.
Prof. Yonggui Wang systematically sorted out the main points and also made constructive suggestions for the university. The attended young scholars expressed their great inspiration.
The NSFC Workshop Series provided a comprehensive and systematic introduction to the NSFC application and proposal preparation in UNNC. The targeted guidance to written proposals in specific discipline field were effectual as well. Consequently, great confidence and initiatives are sustainable rising for NSFC future application.
