On November 23rd, a group of students from the Civil & Structural Steel Design Project (CIVE2053 UNNC) Class at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China visited a construction site to learn more about the use of steel in building design and construction. The students were given a tour of the site by the project manager from Ningbo Construction Co., who explained the different stages of the construction process and highlighted the key role of steel in the project.

The students were able to see firsthand the various components of a steel structure, including beams, columns, and connections, and learned about the different types of steel used in the construction. They also had the opportunity to ask questions and gain a better understanding of the challenges and considerations involved in using steel in building design.

Overall, the construction site visit was a valuable learning experience for the students, providing them with a practical perspective on the application of steel in construction and reinforcing the concepts they have studied in the classroom.
