April 2023 PGR Event - PGR Away Day & Living in China

On 13 April, a one-day trip in Cicheng was organized for current UNNC postgraduate research (PGR) students. Co-organized by Graduate School and Department of Campus Life, this event was also part of the Living in China series, aiming to provide PGR students the opportunity to explore the beautiful historical and cultural city of Cicheng while networking with their peers.

Around 30 PGR students participated in the Cicheng trip. They visited Confucius Temple, Cicheng Art Museum, Xinfang Zhou Theatre Art Museum. They also had a chance to experience traditional Chinese culture by making their own rice cake.

On 23 April, Graduate School and UNNC Doctoral Association jointly organized a public lecture on artificial intelligence, delivered by Professor Alain Chong, Dean of Graduate School and Global Engagement.

More than 50 people from both inside and outside the university attended the lecture, getting an insight into AI and machine learning and becoming more aware of the challenges and impact of AI on the future of work.

On the occasion of the World Book Day on 23 April, a book-sharing activity on the theme of ‘Receiving The Gift and Be Your Better Self’ was organized by Graduate School, The Library and UNNC Doctoral Association.

During the event, guest speakers shared their unique life experiences and valuable insights with the participants. Around 30 students and staff joined the activity and had learned new ideas and perspectives.
