On 28 August, the UNNC basketball team visited Novel Optics in the morning. They visited the exhibition hall and had a short meeting. In the afternoon, they had a friendly basketball game with the staff in Novel Optics in the afternoon.

Ningbo Novel Optics was founded in 1997 by Mr. Kuang Piu Chao, formerly known as Jiangnan Optical Instrument Factory, which established in 1943 and Ningbo Optical Instrument Factory established in 1958. Mr. Mao Lei is the current CEO. Novel Optics is a leading company engaged in developing and producing the optical instruments.

After a short lunch break, both teams made their way to the Touch Football League at the Convention Centre. Before the game started, both players discussed tactics and had a simple warm-up exercise.

The friendly basketball game started soon. Accompanied by cheers from the crowd, UNNC basketball team took the lead with a shot, and Novel team followed it up with a beautiful three-point shot. The competition was intense. The score was largely tied at the end of the first half of game, which provided a challenge for the second quarter of the game.

In the second half of the game, the contrast between the two sides was scintillating, with the score constantly fluctuating. No. 12 player Dani Piombo in UNNC basketball team made several three-pointers and he was the highest scorer in the game, earning 33 points for the team as a single player.

At the end of the game, UNNC team won by a narrow margin of two points, all the players enjoyed their time. Not only sports skills but also good relations have been built up.

In all, Novel Optics's support and hospitality are much appreciated. We hope that more PGR students can join in and cheer for the basketball team in the near future.
