Biography
Suprateek Sarker currently serves as the Rolls-Royce Commonwealth Commerce Professor (Information Technology) at the McIntire School of Commerce, University of Virginia. He is also a Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and an Honorary Professor at the Business School of the University of Sydney, Australia. Additionally, he is the recipient of the 2023 White Broome Award. Prof. Sarker holds positions on the editorial boards of several leading academic journals, including Information Systems Research (currently as the Editor-in-Chief) and the Journal of MIS (as a member of the board of editors). Furthermore, he serves as an Editorial Advisory Board member for journals such as Information & Organization, Information Technology & People, Decision Support Systems, AIS Transactions on HCI, Pacific Asia Journal of the Association for Information Systems, and the International Journal of Information Management. He has previously served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the AIS and the Journal of Information Technology Case and Application Research, as well as a Senior Editor of MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, and the Decision Sciences Journal. Professor Sarker's research has appeared in several top journals, including MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, the Journal of Management Information Systems, the Journal of the Association of Information Systems, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Information & Organization, the European Journal of Science Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, Information Systems Journal, the Journal of Strategic Information Systems, the Journal of Information Technology, Information Technology & People, MIS Quarterly Executive, Communications of the AIS, Communications of the ACM, ACM Transactions on MIS, ACM Data Base, IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication, IEEE Software, and the Decision Sciences Journal, as well as the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science.
