Mission
The Next Generation Internet of Everything (NGIoE) research group aims to accelerate knowledge creation, expertise development and value delivery to key stakeholders in Internet of Things (IoT) industry. It also aspires to facilitate a collaborative platform where people with diverse background (interdisciplinary) can come together to inspire, be inspired and innovate the next generation IoT technologies. NGIoE will leverage UNNC’s strengths, its unique East-West academic environment, robust industrial partnerships, and access to diverse talent pools—to establish itself as a leader in next-generation Internet communication technologies with autonomous, data-driven and human-centric computing. This vision resonates with the University’s emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration, enabling researchers and students to co-create solutions which address global challenges across various industry verticals such as smart cities, smart mobility/transportation, intelligent healthcare, and so on.
The NGIoE will serve as a catalyst for deepening UNNC’s international collaborations with top-tier universities, research institutes, and technology enterprises. By actively engaging with global networks, the Research Group will strengthen the University’s research portfolio, attract external funding, and bolster its role in shaping future technology roadmaps, policies, and best practices in the areas of IoT.
NGIoE supports UNNC’s strategies by championing interdisciplinary innovation, addressing global challenges, fostering industry-ready talent, and expanding international connections—all while positioning the University as an influential leader in the next generation of IoT technologies.
