The China Beacons Institute is actively building two types of joint laboratories: Sino-foreign joint laboratory and university-industry joint laboratory, to cooperate with industries, deepen cooperation in the three key research fields of intelligent manufacturing, green chemicals and energy, and life science and healthcare, accelerate the transfer and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and promote the development of industrial clusters in Ningbo and the transformation and upgrading of local economy.

Zhejiang - Canada Joint Laboratory on Green Chemicals and Energy
The Zhejiang - Canada Joint Laboratory on Green Chemicals and Energy is jointly built by UNNC in collaboration with researchers from UWO. It will be established at the China Beacons Institute. Combining the strengths of both universities, the Joint Laboratory will focus on three major research areas: innovative pharmaceutical formulation technology, green energy conversion and intensification technology in chemical engineering, and research and development of particulate materials, while setting up a results transformation centre and public analysis and testing platform to support the development of research outcomes.
Centre for Smart Food Research
The China Beacons Institute and UoN jointly established the Smart Food Joint Research Centre, which will transfer the world-leading food technology platform of UoN to Ningbo. The project 'To explore the genetic mechnisms of diabetic retinopathy based on multi-omics technology' was awarded as Ningbo Key International Cooperation Project.

Joint Research Centre for Green Chemicals
China Beacons Institute and Zhejiang Runtu Co., Ltd., one of China's top 500 manufacturers, co-founded a university-enterprise joint research centre, into which Runtu plans to invest RMB 20 million in scientific and technological research and development. The two sides will jointly carry out collaborative research into key technologies in the key areas such as clean energy and high-end dye chemicals, striving to build a world-leading "green, low-carbon, circular, high-efficiency" high-end dye production base.
New Polymer Polymerization Process Innovation and Application laboratory
China Beacons Institute and Zhejiang Amerisource New Material Co., Ltd. , a leading enterprise of PBT engineering plastics in China, jointly established the New Polymer Polymerization Process Innovation and Application laboratory. Both two sides will fully leverage their respective advantages and conduct the depth cooperation in the field of technologies and products researching and developing, talents cultivating and exchanging and students’ intern, so that the joint lab will become a platform for strengthening and developing the theories and knowledge of new polymer polymerization processes and promoting the technological innovation.
