Scholarships for International students

University of Nottingham Ningbo China offers various scholarships to students to reward academic excellence and promote diversity. Nearly 30% of our undergraduate students were awarded scholarships for their study at UNNC. Once enrolled, approximately 32.5% of our current students are eligible for additional merit and/or performance based scholarships and awards.

One student may apply for multiple scholarships but will only be eligible to receive one entry based scholarship award (including the Family scholarship) and one progresion based award during his/her academic study at UNNC. Should one student being considered for two awards, only the one award with the highest value will be granted. Scholarship offer will not be deferred to the next academic year.

There are three types of Nottingham global scholarships available.

• The full scholarship awards the student 110, 000 RMB, an equivalent of 100% tuition fee of the first year of study.
• The half scholarship awards the student 55, 000 RMB, an equivalent of 50% tuition fee of the first year of study.
• The a quarter scholarship awards the student 27, 500 RMB, an equivalent of 25% tuition fee of the first year of study.

This scholarship is an entry based scholarship which means the awardee's tuition fee for the first year will be waived or it will be refunded if the full tuition fee was already paid.

Eligibility

• Full time undergraduate student from overseas who has submitted an application.
• Full scholarship: Merit-based selection based on outstanding academic performance with minimum achievement of AAA in A-level; IB 36 points or equivalent for qualifying year entry; or AAAAA in iGCSE or equivalent for preliminary year entry, as determined at the time of admission.
• Half scholarship: Merit-based selection based on outstanding academic performance with minimum achievement of AAB in A-level; IB 34 points or equivalent for qualifying year entry; or AAAAB in iGCSE or equivalent for preliminary year entry, as determined at the time of admission.
• A quarter scholarship: Merit-based selection based on outstanding academic performance with minimum achievement of ABB in A-level; IB 32 points or equivalent for qualifying year entry; or AAABB in iGCSE or equivalent for preliminary year entry, as determined at the time of admission.

How to apply 

Separate applications for Nottingham global full/half/a quarter scholarship are required. To complete the application, a filled scholarship application form is required to be submitted on Application Hub by 31 May 2024. 

This scholarship awards 20,000 RMB each to international undergraduate students to be used toward the tuition fee of their first year study.

How to apply

Students who would like to apply for this scholarship will need to prepare the following documents and submit to the Application Hub by 31 May 2024:

• Application form
• Personal statement of approx. 500 words. 

This scholarship awards 20, 000 RMB each to full-time undergraduate students from central and eastern European countries for each year of their study at UNNC.

These countries are Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia.

A 10% tuition fee reduction is awarded to the children, brothers, sisters, husbands or wives of students who are currently registered on award bearing full-time courses at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China or who have already successfully completed award-bearing courses.

Application to this scholarship should be submitted in Application Hub. Students are required to submit official documents (e.g. a Birth Certificate) to prove his/her relationship with the family member.

This scholarship is available to eligible students for a maximum of 4 years.
