The MSc in Electronic Communications and Computer Engineering is a 12-month full-time programme comprising 180 credits: 120 credits of taught modules delivered across the Autumn and Spring semesters, followed by a 60-credit summer research project. The curriculum includes core modules in Holistic Engineering Design (10 credits), Project Development (10 credits), and an industry-linked dissertation (60 credits). Students then select 80–100 credits of advanced electives such as 5G/6G Mobile Communications, AI Systems, Advanced Computing, and Digital Signal Processing. Students may take up to 20 credits of foundation modules such as IoT, embedded computing, and AI if these subjects have not been previously studied.
The programme emphasises not only technical mastery but also the development of professional skills in design, innovation, sustainability, and ethical engineering practice. Through hands-on laboratory work, interdisciplinary teamwork, and industry collaborations, students gain the practical expertise and professional competencies expected of future Chartered Engineers.
