UNNC International Curriculum Research Learning Class 2025
01 August 2025
From July 21 to August 1, 93 new senior one students from the Affiliated High School of UNNC came to the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) to take their "first high school lesson" in advance. This International Curriculum Study Programme focused on three core goals: language application, learning adaptation and global understanding. It integrated IELTS training, academic skills, multi-disciplinary preparatory courses and multicultural experiences to create an immersive growth platform for the future, guiding students to achieve a key transition from junior high to senior high school.
The Centre for English Language Education (CELE) of UNNC carefully designed immersive IELTS workshop courses for them. Through real question analysis, practical drills and task-driven teaching, the CELE teaching team encouraged students to step out of their language comfort zones and lay a solid language foundation.
In addition to improving English language proficiency, the summer school courses also specially set up multiple growth modules centered on "soft skills". These courses cover topics such as introduction to learning skills, vocabulary learning techniques, time management, personal environmental impact and employability. They help students establish more systematic learning methods and enhance their self-management ability and future awareness.
During the two-week summer school journey, beyond knowledge accumulation and ability improvement, students were quietly inspired to think about the future and rediscover themselves. They accumulated their own bit of strength in key areas such as language application, team collaboration and problem-solving, and experienced challenges and self-breakthroughs again and again.
