NEXT is a leading platform for students to master live-streaming commerce and cutting-edge marketing practices, enhancing student development with next-generation e-commerce and marketing practices, and bridging education and industry to foster the next generation of industry leaders. It aims to provide an immersive and hands-on learning environment with relevant training and resources, enabling students to acquire experience and skills in live-streaming commerce, and ultimately boosting their employability and entrepreneurial potential.

Main Activities
- Industry Immersion Project : Taking students into the live commerce industry, providing them with hands-on, immersive learning experiences.
- Enterprise Empowerment Programme : Bringing expertise to campus through a series of enterprise engagement and empowerment activities, such as talks, seminars, roundtable discussions
- Competitions: Competitions for identifying talented students in live-streaming commerce and related domains. For example, LiveTalent Spotlight Challenge, EasyYa · NEXT TikTok Short-Video Competition, SIX Queens Creative Campus Challenge SIX etc.
- Talent Development Programme & Talent Pool Schemes : Cultivating international students and domestic students for/through collaborative projects with industry partners or students’ own entrepreneurial practices.
- Summer Placement : Internships, practical experiences, research projects arranged during the winter break and summer break.

- Industry Immersion Project in 2024
The event received applications from nearly 400 students, with a total of 30 students participating in the activity.
- EasyYa · NEXT TikTok Short-Video Competition in 2025
Sponsored by EasyYa, this competition aims to offer students the opportunities to showcase their creativity and Internet savvy through short-videos on TikTok, the first prize wins USD1,000 scholarship.
173 students participated in the challenge, 38 TikTok accounts were incubated. 20 groups of participants successfully passed the first round, and the final round is still ongoing.
- LiveTalent Spotlight Challenge
The aim of the competition is to discover talented students who can effectively host conversations and engage audiences, representing the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) in various live-streaming events. Students who excel in this competition will be selected to join our Live Talent Pool and will have opportunities to engage in NEXT Base’s future projects and live-streaming events.
- SIX Queens Creative Campus Challenge SIX
Collaborating with SMG Live and Tianshengchaomang Company, this competition aims to identify talented students who are capable of using short videos to tell stories about women’s empowerment.
