Entry requirements

Course Requirements: 2:1 level or above (or international equivalent) in an appropriate subject. For mainland Chinese applicants, the minimum average score is 80 if you graduate from a domestic university of Project 985, 211 or double first-rate; the minimum average score is 85 if otherwise.

In a relevant discipline: Product Design and Manufacture, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Mechanical Engineering, and other related engineering background subjects.

English Language Requirements: IELTS score of at least 6.0 with a minimum score of 5.5 in individual elements

Course overview

The course provides the students with the necessary advanced, technical skills within the fields of Innovative Design, and to develop a critical awareness of the advanced techniques, methods and technological advances available to conduct state of the art research in the areas of Innovative Design.

Special features

The course is multidisciplinary which combines the engineering and scientific areas of Computer science, Manufacturing with creative aspects of Industrial Design.

The course prepares and equips students with up-to-date theoretical knowledge and requisite practical industry-standard skills in the rapidly advancing fields as industrial designers, interaction designers, user experience (UX) designers, service designers.

The course provides industry with graduates who can combine these skills in professional applications-oriented settings. The course also prepares students with research insights and abilities to further study as PhD candidates.
