UNNC Summer School 2025

01 August 2025

In August 2025, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) welcomed 64 students from different provinces in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Indonesia. This two-week British Experience Summer School integrated professional courses and interactive workshops. Students not only gained subject knowledge but also acquired the courage for independent living.

Centred on small-class teaching and a progressive teaching system, the Centre for English Language Education (CELE) created English classes different from traditional ones. These classes helped students improve their speaking skills and express opinions confidently. The professional classes included a variety of academic courses covering multiple disciplines, such as economic analysis, VR experience and social media observation. They guided students to explore different fields and feel the atmosphere of university classes.

This summer school also featured master classes, encouraging students to explore actively and learn enthusiastically. Top scholars entered the classes to guide students in self-exploration. They helped students clarify their strengths, interests and potential, thus enabling them to think more deeply about their future development directions. Students also learned the importance of resource sharing and division of labour in practice, enhancing their team awareness and problem-solving abilities.

The summer school not only brought students academic gains but also provided them with an international perspective and the courage to try. It guided them towards a broader future.
