UNNC China Agricultural University Summer School 25 Wrapping Up
Programme Introduction
From August 18 to 22, 2025, the Summer School for Improving International Literacy, tailored by the UNNC for students of CAU, was successfully held, and the week-long immersive learning journey came to a successful conclusion. Students enter the campus of UNNC, exercise their ability, harvest and grow in the enrichment of courses and activities, and leave an unforgettable campus memory.
Course Content
Intensive Academic English Course:
Small classes are used to ensure that each student receives adequate personalized guidance and feedback. The course comprehensively covers the core skills of academic listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Through the teaching of "Defining sustainable development" and "data and statistical interpretation", it helps students master the language application skills in academic scenarios. Meanwhile, it specially trains the ability of academic speech and helps build a clear "problem-solution" expression logic. Lay a solid foundation for all English university studies.
Professional Interactive Courses:
Focus on multi-field frontier and practice, covering hot topics such as green energy exploration, human-computer interaction frontier, and film and television creation practice. Students can intuitively feel the complete scientific research process by visiting the research laboratory, have an in-depth understanding of sustainable development-related technologies in the green energy course, and further expand their scientific and technological vision with the help of the virtual reality interactive platform. The diversified course forms not only enrich professional cognition but also effectively cultivate innovative practice and interdisciplinary collaboration ability, providing strong support for future study and career development.
Extracurricular Practice:
In addition to the intense academic courses, a series of relaxing and interesting practical activities provides students with an opportunity to relax and release pressure. Students out of the classroom, into the enterprise production and research and development site, with close contact with cutting-edge scientific research equipment and experimental process, while satisfying their curiosity and expanding their scientific and technological vision.
In the Lego Innovation workshop, everyone got inspired in collaboration, which not only alleviated learning fatigue but also exercised innovative thinking and teamwork ability. Physical activity experience allows students to get out of the classroom, stretch their body and mind in sports, and adjust the pace of learning with more vitality.
Graduation Moment:
At the graduation ceremony, each group displayed its achievements around different themes. Students used solid academic English to clearly explain their research ideas and solutions, which fully demonstrated their learning and collaboration results during the summer school. Then, the student representatives spoke on the stage to share their learning experience and growth perception, and look forward to future development. At the end of the ceremony, Professor Peter gave a speech encouraging everyone to keep innovative thinking and flexibly apply what they learned in Summer School to their future academic research and career development. Professor Dougal presented the summer School certificate and mascot to each student, drawing a warm and successful end to the summer school trip.
Conclusion
This summer trip not only allowed the students of CAU to feel the charm of the international campus of UNNC, but also systematically improved their academic English ability, innovative thinking, and practical ability, laying a solid foundation for their future exploration, and helping them to spread their wings in a broader field.
