个人简介

Dawn joined UNNC in 2013 and has over 17 years of teaching experience and 9 years’ experience teaching in higher education. She currently convenes the MA module, Advanced English Discourse Skills, works with the Writing Lab and teaches PY students. She is a Senior Fellow in the HEA and a passionate teacher with experience of supporting staff, students and international scholars at UNNC. Dawn focuses on developing effective learning environments and approaches to support and guide students, and enjoys adapting syllabi and creating and modifying materials in order to incorporate the needs of the students. For the last five years she has provided academic guidance to PG and UG students through academic advising sessions and workshops, and has also spent the last few summers advising on PG (including TESOL) dissertations and assignments. Dawn has a passion for the use of technology in the classroom and has provided professional development sessions for teachers in both the use of Smartboards and use of mirroring technology.

Another passion is travelling and experiencing different cultures and she has previously taught EAP, business English, English for examinations and General English in various countries around the world (The U.K., China, The Sultanate of Oman, Vietnam, South Korea and Tunisia). In her spare time, she indulges herself with her obsession of alternative therapies, herbal remedies, and essential oils.
