How to apply
You are an international student if you are a foreign citizen and hold a visa or special entry permit for entry to China, including from Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and Taiwan.
International students need a student visa to study in China. For information about student visas, check with the nearest diplomatic mission in your country. For a list of Chinese Embassies, click here|.
Entry requirements:
Preliminary Year (Year One) Entry
Students from 12-year education systems are normally required to have graduated from High School. Applicants for all degree programmes should have achieved an average grade of B in GCSE (or equivalent qualification). Applicants must be at least 17 years of age at the start of the course.
In addition to the University entrance requirement, international students whose first language is not English or whose entry qualification was not obtained in the medium of English are required to provide evidence of their proficiency in English.
Minimum English language requirement:

IELTS 5.5 with the writing band no less than 5.0 or
-
TOEFL (IBT) 71 (minimum 17 in any element)
Qualifying Year (Year Two) Entry
Students from 12-year education systems are normally required to complete a foundation year before entering Year One. Students from 13- year education systems or on recognised foundation courses are not usually required to complete a foundation year. Direct entry applicants should have achieved a minimum of:

GCE A Level: BBB (or equivalent qualification) for most programmes

IB Diploma: 32
-
Recognised foundation programm
-
1-2 years of university study
Minimum English Language Requirement:

IELTS 6.5 with the writing band no less than 6.0 or
-
TOEFL (IBT) 88 (minimum 19 in any element)
Minimum English Language requirement for BA English Language and Applied Linguistics, BA English Language and Literature, and BA English Studies with International Business:

IELTS 7.0 with the writing band no less than 6.5 or
-
TOEFL (IBT) 100 (minimum 21 in any element)

Closing dates
The closing date for applications for international students is 31st May 2012. Late applications will be considered subject to availability of places.
IELTS/TOEFL scores and/or degree/diploma certificates should be received by the Recruitment & Admissions Office before 15th July.
